Clean Highways to feature on TV
The BBC 1 will be broadcasting a series of programmes on litter in October immediately following the Breakfast programme. I spent a whole morning with the production company including a site visit to the now infamous M40 Denham Roundabout.

Answer: when its made to the Highways Agency
“Caller reports severe litter problems” became an “enquiry”.
“The verges of the entry slips are strewn with rubbish and litter” was logged as a “notification”.

New Chairman for Highways Agency
Under a Bill going through Parliament the Highways Agency will become a government owned company. In preparation for this Colin Matthews, the former boss of Heathrow Airport, has been appointed as its new Chairman. He took up his part time post at the beginning of September. Hopefully, as someone from outside the civil service, he will be receptive to the concerns of his customers.
