Continue reading »Helen Flynn tells me that this petition to Parliament has been started by the excellent Truckers Cleaning Up Britain requesting that the government provide the infrastructure for adequate resting/park up facilities for truckers.

The owner of a tipper truck has been prosecuted by the Environment Agency (their annual prosecution?) for fly-tipping this load of wood.
They were fined £200, and ordered to pay costs of £2,000 and a victim surcharge of £30.
Surely this is no deterrent. Why not a fine of £20,000? Why was the vehicle not confiscated.
