I am indebted to Rory O’Neill for a copy of the response to an information request he put to the Department for Transport. He had asked:

Transport Focus and the Office of Rail & Road.

Since the creation of Highways England both of these organisations have taken on additional duties in respect to highways.

How much additional annual funding is provided to each of them to cover these new duties?

He was given the following figures

Transport Focus£1,450,000£1,785,000
Office for Rail & Road£2,600,000£2,550,000

That is a total of £8,385,000 !
