According to the contractor’s, Balfout Beatty Mott MacDonald’s, schedule it is a RED area and is therefore “too dangerous to Litter Pick, and requires clearance of vegetation before picking work can take place ”
Clearly this is not the case.
The same contractor maintains Area 10 in the North East where vegetation is causing similar problems. In the Sweeping and Cleaning section of its Management Requirement Plan it says:
Activity – Are Relaxations or Enhancements Required … Current known locations can be associated with areas of long grass and vegetation that pose a risk to the individual associated with carrying out the activity. Relaxation to applied for until vegetation has died back and the risk of slips, trips and falls has been reduced.
