I took this photograph on Saturday while queuing at the junction.
This section of the A404 is part of the national strategic road network run by Highways England.
It is one of the All Purpose Trunk Roads (APTRs) on the network where the local authority, in this case Berkshire County Council the newly constituted unitary authority, has to keep it clear of litter.
Please refer to the Big ISSUE – DfT prevaricate over transfer of cleansing of APTRs from councils to Highways England
What a mess!
